Exchange House (2022)

Kangan was commissioned by Piercy & Co to design four tapestries for the reception at Exchange House - part of British Land’s Broadgate estate.

The tapestry designs abstract the distinctive structural elements of Exchange House's parabolic arches, steel trusses and beams.
Bold geometric shapes repeat and diminish in size, with ten patterns representing the ten storeys of the building.

Loom-woven in Flanders, Belgium, the colour palette picks up on the steely blues of the facade and the bucolic greens found in the newly landscaped Exchange Square.
In this way, the tapestries provide a subtle nod to the mid-century origins of the building whilst signalling an exciting new era for its future.
